Life in the slow lane

Having just spent 3 days in London, most of the days using public transport.... God it's slow! Still, I'm sad and I enjoyed it. Jumping on a tube train and going on an adventure to see some of the 'sights' of London.

Sunday was spent wandering around London looking for the disused tube stations above ground. Aldwych, Down Street, the old Hyde Park Corner entrance and also the Kingsway tramway found. Cecilia and myself ended up wandering around in the rain on our adventure, and it was fun! We found Temple Church and had a wander around. Then back to Charing Cross to look for books and a train (no Circle or District line trains running! Not helpful when your at Temple station!!!)

Monday was mainly spent wandering around Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens and the West End. Camera pointing at anything that looked mildly interesting! Squirrels, magpies, pelicans, buildings. Just the usual tourist things. A huge bucket of hot chocolate consumed and a pain au chocolate! Yum! On the train back to Sloane Square, a man asked; "Are you a pap??", looking at him, I just wondered.. And decided to say no. They couldn't pay me enough!

Tuesday was D-day for the Monster. MOT day. The bike was dropped off to Rosso Corse in E1. Another day spent travelling around on the Tube. I decided to head for St James Park and get some pictures of the pelicans. After walking out of the station, I forgot about the state visit.... DOH!! Anyway, that was a saving grace! Lots of pictures of the Horse Guards and the marching soldiers. Then I headed off around town, taking pictures of the Houses of Parliament, squirrels, and more less interesting things!

Bike collected late in the afternoon with a clean bill of health for another 12 months!
